Yes. Rentler reports rental payments to credit bureaus, but how they are reported depends on the type of payment:
Unpaid Rent: Reported to two major bureaus – Equifax and TransUnion.
Paid Rent: Reported to all three bureaus – Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian.
This means that positive payment history has a broader impact on a tenant’s credit than negative payment history.
Tenant Opt-In
Tenants can choose to have their rental payments reported for a small monthly fee. Once enrolled, Rentler will report payment activity (both on-time and late payments) to Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion.
These reports are then used by banks, lenders, and financing companies to help determine eligibility for loans and credit accounts.
