Can I still request a screening if a tenant does not apply online?

Yes! Rentler makes it easy to screen your potential tenants, even if they do not apply online through our website. To manually request a credit and background screening from someone, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Landlord Dashboard and click on Screenings.
  2. Click the button that says [Request A Screening] or select the property you are trying to rent. (Note: If you haven't verified your ID yet you will be asked to complete this step).

  3. Fill out the potential tenant's information and click [Submit]. This is where you will be given the option to either have each applicant pay the $35 credit & background check fee or to pay it on their behalf.

  4. Your potential tenant will be notified by email that they have a screening request. They will then be able to log in on and accept or reject the credit & background screening request.
